I know it sounds pretty crazy doesn’t it, butESPN’s John Clayton is really pushingthe idea that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady may holdout.NHL jerseys
I guess it holds some weight even though I doubt it even comes close to happening.
Clayton said on ESPN’s “Mike and Mike” radio show,“They’re nowhere close, and Tom has made it clear to management that he doesn’t want to give any sacrifices. He wants top dollar, and he’s earned top dollar.”nfl jerseys

He continued, “You’re taking about the two clearest Hall of Famers of this era, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. And last we checked, Tom has three Super Bowl rings; Peyton Manning has one. Tom, I’m sure, will get less ultimately than Peyton Manning, but he doesn’t want to take less than what Tom Brady should naturally be able receive.”
Sadly even after all that Clayton himself won’t even predict that Brady will hold out. He says its a “possibility.”ed hardy clothing
I think that in itself shows how much weight Clayton’s comments hold. The only question is why does he keep pressing the notion?
He made the initial comment on June 13 saying that Brady had to decide whether he wanted to holdout or report to camp.
Now a week later he still floats that possibility. Is he just looking for extra publicity here?
Is Clayton feeling a little pressure with Adam Schefter now being the big dog when it comes to ESPN’s NFL experts now?louboutin shoes
Hoping maybe that if Brady does holdout he can take credit for breaking the news?
I don’t think New England fans have anything to worry about.
Brady loves football and the Patriots too much to holdout. In fact Tom Curran of CSNNE.com reports that Brady was expected in town this weekend to get settled in.
Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports, also reports that there is virtually no chance a holdout happens:@YahooSportsNFL : Any talk about a Tom Brady holdout is speculation. Will not happen. Regardless of contract situation, he’s not holding out this year.
Clayton is right in one aspect thou, Brady is not going to take less then what he’s worth.
He’s a three time Super Bowl Champion but to truly get what he’s currently worth, he needs to be in camp and have another huge season.jordan shoes
Under Bill Belichick the Patriots have not been the team to reward you on past success. If Brady holds out and then dropped a dud on the Pats, I’m sure they’d take that into consideration.
For him to get what he is worth, he’ll be in camp proving once again he’s a leader and more importantly, a winner.

If video footage exists of the Colorado Avalanche management’s war room through the first two days of the NHL’s free agency period, I’m sure it looks something like this . NHL jerseys
With almost $25 million in salary cap space , the Avalanche were dormant through the free agent rush that was July 1, and did equally as little as teams fought over scraps on July 2.
Straight from the horse’s mouth, the message to fans is loud and clear: we are building from within .
Some interpret this as a cop-out so the seemingly disinterested owner can put his money in more lucrative investments ; others feel the decision is a breath of fresh air, at ease knowing the current management will not make the same blunders past management was guilty of committing.
Even by doing nothing, the 2011 Colorado Avalanche should be superior to its predecessor, as losing slow, overpaid players such as Darcy Tucker, Ruslan Salei, Chris Durno, and Brett Clark to free agency can be seen as addition by subtraction.
The trade for depth player Daniel Winnik will also add some speed to what was a very slow fourth line in 2010, largely because of Durno and Tucker.
But will riding the wave be enough to be successful next season after division rivals Minnesota, Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver have all made significant additions to their rosters?
The common fear among fans is that the 2011 Avalanche will fade like the St. Louis Blues and Columbus Blue Jackets, both up-and-coming teams in 2009 who did almost nothing the following offseason, and subsequently fell flat on their faces in 2010.
It’s a valid fear; there are obvious flaws with the current team that have yet to be addressed, in addition to the fact that the 2010 version barely squeaked into the playoffs after a deplorable 3-7-3 record from March 17 to the end of the season.
So, what could the Avalanche have done differently so far this off-season to avoid these prophecies of doom?
Sergei Gonchar, arguably the best defenseman available, is too old at age 36 to be considered anything but a short-term option for the young Avalanche, which isn’t worth it if the price of admission is $16.5 million spread out over three years. youth NFL jerseys
The same goes for “offensive” defenseman Paul Martin who, despite never reaching the 40-point plateau and only playing in 22 games this past season , was able to haggle his way to a five-year, $25 million contract.
Zbynek Michalek would have been nice , but he’s a strictly defensive blue-liner—a guy who should be locked up for the next half decade at $4 million per season?
Left wing is another position the Avalanche are thin at. Big fish Ilya Kovalchuk remains available, but amidst rumors of a blockbuster offer from the New York Islanders , it’s no shock many teams chose not to pursue the superstar forward.jordan shoes
Of the remaining players who would fill a need for next season, most are either old , coming off of a bad season , coming off of an injury-filled season , or just flat-out awful .
Teams like the Pittsburgh Penguins or New Jersey Devils can afford to slightly overpay players like Paul Martin or Henrik Tallinder because they feel they’re close to the Stanley Cup.
These teams realize their window of opportunity is closing (Devils) or they have so much star talent that it would be illogical to wait around for prospects to fill supporting roles when they have the cap space to do otherwise (Penguins). louboutin shoes
For Colorado, it’s slow and steady wins the race. Feeling they are rebuilding, there’s no purpose in signing a player to a salary they feel is too high, especially when the team’s biggest need is largely covered by its prospect pool .
That’s not to say the Avalanche won’t look outside of the organization in the coming weeks, but so they won’t break the bank doing it. ed hardy clothing
So simmer down, Avalanche faithful. The world is not ending because the Avalanche didn’t sign Toni Lydman .

That’s Jay Bruce trying to use his Jedi mind trick on an umpire, “No, you did not just see me swing at a ball that was three-feet over my head.”cheap NFL jerseys
There is no doubt Bruce has potential. Unfortunately, potential and seven bucks will only buy you a hopper full of movie theater popcorn.
The Reds have around a three year window before they start going broke with big money extension or arbitration cases.
If Cincinnati does not lock Joey Votto down to a multi-year deal, the improving but already paltry attendance will drop to Florida Marlins level.NBA jerseys
Even though Bruce still gets the obligatory, “BRUUUUUUCE,” chant when as he steps in the box, now is the time to trade him. Fan morale would not decrease if a top-notch closer were to join the club.
At 23, Bruce still has a tremendous upside. And, not being a soothsayer, it’s impossible to tell whether or not that upside will ever be seen.
Right now though, with the Reds’ regular season 57.4 percent done, Bruce is on pace to hit 19 home runs with around 158 strikeouts—158 Ks is pretty decent for a soft tossing pitcher—for an offensive player on pace to hit 19 home runs…it’s flat-out worthless.
Now if Bruce were on pace to jack 40-45 bleacher balls, it’d be a totally different story—one not especially as deplorable.
Defensively, Jay Bruce is at the top of the MLB right fielder class. He cuts balls off, and has an absolute cannon—even some of the fastest players in the league will not test his left arm.
Kansas City does not have a right fielder. Yes, they do play someone out there. This year it has been, for the most part, natural center fielder David DeJesus. ed hardy clothing
Joakim Soria is a stallion closer. His talent is wasted in Kansas City.
How valuable is a save when when it is for a team 13 games below .500, and 1.5 games out of last place? wholesale NFL jerseys
The Reds current closer Coco Cordero has not only been directly responsible for many heart attacks in the Cincinnati area, but he is also under contract for next year. And even if Coco’s cousin were an MLB general manager—there is no way he would take the aged and overweight closer with a price tag of $14 million.jordan shoes
The only viable solution for the Reds will be to obtain a lesser priced super star closer (Soria) and just toss Coco into middle relief. And they should do this as soon as possible.
Jay Bruce for Joakim Soria.
